June Cross is a journalist and award-winning television producer with thirty years of experience in both commercial and public television.  As a bi-racial child growing up in the 50s and 60s, Cross' white biological mother gave her up to black family friends to raise and kept their true relationship a secret.  Secret Daughter describes Cross' attempts to negotiate the relationships between her biological and adoptive mothers, the worlds of Hollywood and the black middle class, and the black radicalism of the sixties and seventies while a student at Harvard.
