Hamilton Book & Movie Club Meeting

March meeting of the new Hamilton Book & Movie Club!  Read Dennis Lehane's Mystic River in advance, watch the 2003 film based on the book at the Hamilton Theater, then join the group for dinner and discussion at the Bookstore afterwards.  Two membership plans available.  Visit www.colgatebookstore.com/bookmovie to sign up or call 228-6944.

Over the course of a three-month season, members will read the selected book in advance, view a screening of the film based on that book (on the last Thursday of each month) at the Hamilton Theatre, and then meet at the Bookstore immediately following the film for dinner and discussion.

Dinner will be catered by Curtain Call of Hamilton, and will include two soup choices, two salads, bread, Curtain Call's famous brownies, and a choice of beverage.

The theme of the Book & Movie Club’s first season (February-April 2008) is “Mysteries”.  The selected books/movies are as follows:

February -  Murder on the Orient Express (novel by Agatha Christie, film directed by Sidney Lumet in 1974, starring Albert Finney and Lauren Bacall)

March - Mystic River (novel by Dennis Lehane, movie directed by Clint Eastwood in 2003, starring Sean Penn and Tim Robbins)

April - Devil in a Blue Dress (novel by Walter Mosley, film directed by Carl Franklin, starring Denzel Washington and Jennifer Beals.)
