Children's Book Week - May 12th through 16th
Colgate Bookstore is hosting a week-long series of children’s and young adult events as part of Children’s Book Week (May 12-16).
All events are free (although some require advance sign-up.) All will be held in the Class of 2003 Events Room on the Bookstore's 3rd Floor.
During the week of May 12th, the Bookstore will be also offer a 20% discount on all children’s titles throughout the store.
Children’s Book Week has been celebrated nationally in schools, libraries, and bookstores since 1919 and is sponsored by the Children’s Book Council.
Monday, May 12th @ 3:30 p.m. - Milk & Cookies
Ages 3 to 8
If your kids love music, dancing and musical stories, check out this performance by the children`s musical duo Milk & Cookies (aka Sharon Allen & Donna Butterfield.) They’ll sing songs from their kids CD “Boo Boo Blues” and Sharon will read from her new picture book Outside Today.

Join us for a pizza party and discussion of the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer – a young adult series featuring human high school student Bella Swan and her vampire sweetheart Edward Cullen. We’ll discuss the first three books of the series and the casting of the upcoming film adaptation, and share speculations about the fourth and final installment of the series to be published in August 2008. Participants may enter to win a free copy of The Host (a new science fiction novel by the same author).

Featuring an indoor duck race (to win a free book) and finger-painting fun, this story and activity time for youngsters is based on themes from two popular baby books - Mouse Paint and Ten Rubber Duckies.
Thursday, May 15th @ 3:30 p.m. - Prince Caspian
Ages 7 and up
Join us for a discussion of Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis, the second book in the Chronicles of Narnia series, and enter to win two free tickets (donated by the Hamilton Theater) to see the new film version “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” which opens on Friday, May 16th.
