Jim Ford: The Pride of "Cidertown": A History of the Bouckville Summits Baseball Team
Thursday, April 16
Start Time: 7:00 PM
Local author Jim Ford will discuss his new book The Pride of "Cidertown": A History of the Bouckville Summits Baseball Team.

About the book:
For many years the Bouckville Summits were the premier semi-professional team in Central New York. The tradition established by them for quality play, as well as the players that were developed, inspired many other communities to create teams of their own. Several of the Summits, including Lew and George Wiltsewent on to professional baseball careers in cities like Philadelphia and New York.
The team established rivalries with most of the area villages at some time or another over their history from 1866 to 1935. At first it was with Cazenovia. The games were not only contested on the field, but in the newspapers of the day also. Games with Oriskany Falls, Eaton, Munnsville and Morrisville also became crowd-pleasers. The Summits did not only play locally but challenged the elite teams of Utica and Sherrill, as well as Madison/Colgate University.
