Sarah Bowen Shea (Colgate Class of 1988) will discuss her new book Run Like a Mother: How to Get Moving, and Not Lose Your Family, Job, or Sanity. The event will be followed by a 5K FUN run/walk around town - all speeds, sizes, shapes, and ages welcome.
About the book:
A book for today's multitasking wife/mother/working woman on how to make running part of her busy life to feel inspired, entertained, and validated. With its insider's, close-girlfriend tone and approach, the book establishes an engaging conversation on all things running to strengthen women's inner athlete and, through the authors' personal experiences, inform women about shoes, training, racing, marathoning, nutrition, injuries, life beyond running (husband, kids, job), and a host of practical as well as inspirational topics.
About the author:
Sarah Bowen Shea is a former Colgate University rower (class of 1988) and co-author, with Dimity McDowell '94, of Run Like a Mother. Sarah is the mother of has three young children and recently ran her sixth marathon. She’s also a freelance writer specializing in fitness, gear, and parenting for publications like Runner’s World, SELF, Shape, and the New York Times.
