Rose Kent: Rocky Road

Rose Kent, author of the children's book Rocky Road, will read from, discuss, and sign copies of her novel about a family who opens an ice cream shop in upstate New York. Free mini Rocky Road sundaes from Maxwell's for all children who attend. All are welcome, but the book is geared towards ages 8-12.

Copies of the book will be available in-store and online at 25% off until Saturday, October 30.  They will be available on the day of the event at full price.

About the book:
Refreshing as a triple-scoop sundae, Rocky Road tells the story of loveable twelve-year-old Tess Dobson, whose world is turned upside down when her mother moves the family to a frozen, rundown town in New York with the impractical idea of opening her dream business—an ice cream shop.  This warm tale weaves serious family issues with reflections on perseverance rewarded and the simple pleasures to be found in bringing family and community together.



About the author:
