Banned Book Read-Out 2011

At the Hamilton Public Library's Community Room, 13 Broad Street.  Celebrate your freedom to read!  Join us for a reading & discussion of banned books with members of the local communities, Colgate, and the MidYork Library System.  Sponsored by the Hamilton Public Library and the Colgate Bookstore. Refreshments will be provided.

Celebrating the freedom to read, Banned Book Week is observed during the last week of September each year.   Since 1982 the American Library Association has promoted Banned Book Week to remind Americans not to take this precious democratic freedom for granted.

 * David & Clara Lantz, Colgate faculty & staff, reading from Salome by Oscar Wilde.
 * Margaret Miller, Hamilton Mayor, Lifelong Learners, and Fortnightly Club, reading from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
 * Xavia Andromeda Publius, Colgate student, reading from A Separate Peace by John Knowles.
 * Kathy Sabino, Hamilton Central School teacher, reading from And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson
